Sierra Nevada, California
by Warren E. Yeend
Geological Survey Professional Paper 772
A restudy of the unmined Tertiary placer deposits in a historic hydraulic mining region
Published in 1974 as Professional Paper 772. This paper studies area in the Yuba River area that were believe to be missed to determine where gold may still be available to mine. Many of these areas were hydraulically mined and were unable to get down to bedrock. In addition they were very inefficient and left a lot of gold behind. This publication came with a lot of great maps showing the deposits, and the geology. They are digitized and included on a CD in the back of the book.
