Starting in the early 1900's up until the 1950's the State of California put out reports on each county listing all of the known mines and mineral deposits in that county up until the date of the publication.  Not surprisingly many of these reports focused primarily around Lode and Placer Gold Mines in those counties especially in the Motherlode and other gold bearing counties.  The reports also however reported other mineral deposits and mines as well.  The Mines are listed,  when they were discovered, who discovered them,  history or production if known, pictures if available, Location of the mines and more.  This is a great series and probably the most informative information if you are looking for certain mines in a particular county.  Sylvanite Publishing is putting these all back in print, so if you don't see your county in our store check back as they maybe available soon.   Many of these reports had maps showing the localities in the back pocket.  If available Sylvanite publishing scanned these and put them on CD rom in the back of the book.
